Elliswick LTC Newsletter – December 2024
Dear Members,
Welcome to our December Newsletter. We hope you and your family have had a very happy and healthy Christmas and holiday period.
GROUNDS & CLUBHOUSE
New floodlights for the New Year: The floodlights are now in operation! That said, there is a small chance that remedial works will be needed, and we will send a message if we need to restrict access to the lights and courts for a period of time. But please do feel free to begin to enjoy the new lights on these dark winter afternoons and evenings. Just remember to only light the court you are on and to turn off the lights at the end of play. Please see attached for simple operating instructions.
CLUB AGM
Thank you to all those who attended the AGM on Saturday 7th December, which went very smoothly, with around 102 members either attending or sending their proxy. We would like to thank you for all your support. The 2025 AGM will be held on Saturday 6th December 2025 – please put this date in your diary.
MEMBERSHIP – IMPORTANT REMINDER
Membership Renewals
If you wish to renew your Elliswick LTC membership for 2025, please sign in to your ELTC Clubspark account using your LTA login details and click the “Renew now” button. You can renew anytime between now and 28th February 2025.
Parents/guardians should also see and renew any linked junior memberships.
Please also make sure your details (phone number, address etc) are complete and up to date in your profile. This is also a club requirement. Please see below a simple guide on how to edit your profile and renew:
Deadline to receive the early payment discount: 31st January 2025.
Deadline to pay your membership: 28th February 2025. If you have not paid your membership by then, your membership will lapse, and your place will be offered to those on the waiting list.

TEAM TENNIS
All the winter matches are well underway, with some matches being cancelled recently due to the weather. All have been rescheduled to play in the new year.
If anyone is interested in participating in any of the teams, please let our respective captains know, as follows:

SOCIALS
It has been a great year for our social activities at the club. In December 2024, we held 2 charity events. In early December, we had a great Ladies Charity Christmas lunch with around 30 ladies, each bringing a plate to share. From the proceeds we donated £200 to our local libraries.
The Music and Magic Evening ran by our own Tim Sutton and organised by Sally Radcliffe raised over £1,000 for the world’s forgotten children charity.
Our thanks to all the organisers and our ever-generous members who supported the events.
