Elliswick LTC Newsletter – January 2020

Dear Members,

Welcome to our January Newsletter. Firstly, apologies for the length of this month’s newsletter.  As it is the first one of the year, we have many fantastic news items to share with you.

At the AGM in November 2019, we appointed Rupert Tillbrooke as our new Men’s Captain, David Kendall as our new Company Secretary, and Jim McGown was unanimously re-elected as President of the Club by the Board at the Board/Committee meeting on 20 January 2020, so we are looking forward to a great year ahead with the new look Committee. The Committee has also established a sub-committee with responsibility for the bar. The members of this sub-committee are Eric Rovick, Andree Haxton, Nefyn Provis-Evans and Tom Walters.

We also wish to share with you some important dates that will be happening this year:

  • Finals Day on Sunday the 4th July and 5th July as reserve date.
  • Junior Tournament on Sunday 13th September with reserve date of Sunday 20th September
  • Jazz evening is on 14th March. Lulu and the Hullabaloos will be playing. There will be a mixture of jazz standards, mellow ballads and lively latin style music (which people can dance to if they wish). It’s a very relaxed evening where people can chat and snack whilst the music plays.
  • Dinner dance is on 6th June – Special date for your diary.  We are having a dinner with music and fun roulette and blackjack tables at Harpenden Common Golf Club. More details to follow.
