ELTC COVID-19 UPDATE – 23/09/2020
Dear Members
Following the Government’s issuance of new Covid rules, the LTA today has issued updated guidance for players, venues and coaches. The detailed guidance is available on the following link:
It is clear that there is a tightening of restrictions (and penalties for violating the rules) at present. All members and visitors are required to be fully compliant with the rules: the Government’s rules for England, the LTA’s rules for players, and the Elliswick-specific rules we have been circulating.
This email is an update regarding the changes in rules. We now ask members to observe the following:
- Tennis players (members and guests) must not mingle in groups of more than six before and after playing, while maintaining social distancing with those from other households at all times.
- Attendees (players and others) must avoid social interaction with anyone outside the group they are with, even if they see other people they know, at all times during their visit. For players, effectively it is now best practice to interact only with the other players on one’s court.
- All players should proceed to their assigned court as soon as it is free.
- There has been no specific guidance update for those playing matches. But, for example, for two-pair matches, all 8 players must not congregate together off court before or after matches.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Best wishes
Eric Rovick
