ELLISWICK LTC NEWSLETTER – JUNE 2020
Dear Members,
Welcome to our June Newsletter. Now that the summer months are upon us, it is time to make the most of the sunny days to get fit and healthy by playing more tennis while the sun is still shining on our courts. It is great to see that the courts are in high demand at the moment.
LTA update: Following the Prime Minister’s statement on 23rd June, there will be no immediate changes to the guidelines for tennis. We will be reviewing the Government’s detailed guidance once published and updating the guidelines for tennis as appropriate ahead of the Government’s new measures being introduced from 4 July. The Prime Minister however confirmed that from 4th July the maximum size of groups that will be allowed to meet outside will remain at no more than six people (except where these are from two household groups only), therefore our clubhouse facilities should remain closed.
The LTA remains in continued dialogue with Government, and we anticipate larger groups being permitted as restrictions are further eased.
We will share further updates with regards to the easing of restrictions as decisions are made and ask that until that time members remain patient and follow the current guidelines that are in place.

Charity Fund Raising – Play a Summer Set for the Mayor!
One of our members, Neil Craig is raising funds to support the Town Mayor of Harpenden Charities. Details as follows:
Play during July and August and you can make a donation to the Mayor’s chosen charities and help raise funds for great local causes.
The Town Mayor of Harpenden, Cllr Mrs Nicola Linacre, has chosen The Daylight Club and The Human Milk Foundation as her charities this mayoral year.
The Daylight Club was formed in 1996 and is a social club for adults of working age with physical and other disabilities. Members meet Wednesdays and Fridays throughout the year and the Club provides activities to suit all interests including creative and recreational, interactive workshops, days out and listening to guest speakers.
The Human Milk Foundation provides donor human milk to sick premature babies in hospital neonatal intensive care units and to mums at home with cancer and other conditions. The charity was set up to support The Hearts Milk Bank and aims to ensure that every baby who could benefit can have equitable access to donor milk.
